2017 384-FQS Features and Options
You can easily hit the trails shortly after you arrive at your destination with this Puma Unleashed toy hauler fifth wheel in tow.  Model 384-FQS offers 12'6" of toy parking space for your favorite off-road toys.  Within this space you will find an overhead loft bed, a closet, and a side entry door besides the 8'2" rear ramp door with spring assist for super easy loading and unloading.  The kids will love the overhead loft bed towards the front of the cargo garage, and you can opt. for a 60" x 74" queen electric lift bed for added sleeping space for over night guests.

The patio doors in the cargo area lead into a spacious relaxing kitchen and seating area where you can rest up and watch a little TV if you like, or enjoy a meal after it's prepared.  There is a slide out u-shaped dinette along the curb side, and an entertainment center just inside the patio door on your right.  The kitchen appliances fill the remainder of the road side space providing you with everything you need to cook up great meals and snacks.  There is a pantry, a refrigerator, a three burner range with overhead microwave oven, and a double sink.  A second pantry is located on the other side of the sink creating plenty of storage for your dry and canned goods. There is also overhead storage for your dishes and other kitchen items.

Head up the steps to the right of the main entry door.  Notice a nice side aisle bath on your left at the top of the steps up.  Inside enjoy a 34" x 34" corner shower, a toilet, corner sink, and linen cabinet for your towels and toiletries.

The last door at the head of the hall features a queen size bed with dual bedside nightstands and shirt closets, plus overhead storage as well.

Beneath the bath/bedroom area you will find a nice pass-through storage compartment for all of your outer camping gear, plus so much more!  If you like you can choose to replace the u-shaped dinette with an L-sofa and table, or add another queen electric bed in the cargo space, or happi-jack sofa for more seating as well.

Palomino Camping Trailer construction began in 1968 with the dream of Mr. Vern Landey. Mr. Landey had been a tent trailer distributor for several years when he felt he could design and produce better quality units than were currently being offered to the public. He would design units which were lightweight and offered convenient floorplans at affordable prices. He began designing and producing Palomino pop-up tent trailers in a small building in Savage, Minnesota.

As demand for the Palomino grew, Mr. Landey felt it would benefit his company, Vanguard Ind., to relocate. With most manufacturers and industry suppliers located in the Elkhart, In. area the move eastward seemed logical. Vanguard Industries settled in the community of Colon in 1972. Once in Colon he began to put his plans in motion. By 1973 he had built the main production facility and within days Palomino tent trailers were rolling out the doors.

In 1976, Vanguard added its own Needle Division, in 1978 its own Metal Fabrication Plant, and has several cold storage facilities. On May 27, 1992, the primary production building and offices were destroyed by fire. By late August, 1992, the first 1993 model Palomino rolled of the line in the new 52,300 sq. ft. facility, which was built on the same site as the previous building had been.

The year 1998 continued to see expansion with the addition of a new 75,000 sq. ft. production facility, and another storage facility.  In 2002 Vanguard was purchased by Forest River, Inc. This allowed for rapid growth and the introduction of two new towable lines of travel trailers and fifth wheels, Puma and Sabre by Palomino.

In 2005, Forest River, Inc. and it's divisions were acquired by Berkshire Hathaway.  Palomino RV operates as a separate division of Forest River Inc., and has grown from humble beginnings in Minnesota to one of the top 5 RV manufacturing facilities in North America.
